TIP

Counters are a good statistics collector - they can utilised to gain information about the popularity of your page. The numbers of hits can be deceptive. All hot icons or links are accumulated in the number of hits for the page.

Counters

Counters provide a simple, quick way to track how many visitors access a website's pages . A counter shows the "hit" total of requests for that page. Since the numbers are displayed for all to see, they advertise the popularity of each of your pages quite well. Counters utilise CGI scripts and are a dynamic tool on the web page. The following information provides the procedures for placing a counter on your page.

SINA schools should place the following script in the body of the HTML page where you wish the counter to appear.
