The textured background is a gif. The background should be subtle enough so that the text is clearly legible. Look at the HTML code to find how this is done. The default background for a web page is white. In Microsoft Internet Explorer the background may not appear.

HINT
If you are creating gifs in a graphics software package turn off anti-aliasing as this gives a partial transparency to the pixels on the edge causing it to appear with a small white outline.

At the designing stage of your website, you will need to consider whether you wish your visitors to the site to scroll a lengthy page and thus place hyperlinks in to ease navigation. It may be better to consider a hyperlink to a new page.

1. Academic Excellence

The curriculum in Years 9 and 10 offers traditional academic core subjects, including French, Japanese and German as language choices. There are rigorous electives including Theatre Studies, English as a Second Language, Languages Other Than English, Art, Information Processing, Graphic Communication and Print Making.

2. Extensive Sports Program

Sport is compulsory. Every student participates an afternoon per week in organised sport. Sports include Sailing, Snow Skiing, Rugby, Fencing, Rowing, Water Polo and all the mainstream sports such as Hockey, Football, Basketball, Cricket and Volleyball.

3. Recreation Centre

The Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose sporting venue with quality facilities and expert professional service provided to all students before, during and after school.

4. Outdoor Education

The Centre offers a wide range of activities. Horse riding, caving, canoeing, high ropes course, rock climbing, bike riding and orienteering are all part of the curriculum.

5. Music Ensembles

The ensemble program involves all students who learn a musical instrument at the School.

6. Massed Singing

All students participate in massed singing. Year 9 and 10 students participate in singing lessons three times a month.

7. School Opera, Play and Concerts

Concerts throughout the year are a showcase for large and small groups as well as for individual performances. The boys participate in many community concerts and activities in addition to school performances.

8. Student Welfare

This structure consists of Form Teacher, Year Level Coordinator, Student Welfare Coordinator, Careers and Work Experience Coordinators. Students can access the centrally located Student Services Centre at all times throughout the school day.
