Task 1 - Group

Due Date : Group Presentations - 5th - 7th September

In a group of four, you are being asked to present an understanding of crime and punishment within a chosen time period or cultural grouping and present a perspective on how the punishment reflected the values of society at the time.

The Time periods / Cultural groupings are:
1. Babylonian and Egyptian times
2. Ancient Greek and Roman times
3. Early Middle Ages - 1200-1450
4. Elizabethan Era - 1450-1750
5. Industrial times – 1750-1900
6. Ancient India and China
7. Aboriginal Tribal Law

Your group task involves choosing how to present your findings to the class and the presentation of your findings to the whole class.

Task 2 - Individual

Due Date : Friday, 2nd September

As an individual you are required to create one of the following or negotiate a suitable task with Ms Belvedere:

1. Create a Virtual museum web page to illustrate “justice” in your chosen time period, include relevant images to demonstrate your points
2. Create an artefact from the period / cultural grouping for an exhibition at the museum on the history of punishment
3. You are a reporter - produce a front page of the newspaper reporting on a crime and the punishment meted out
