What does the
future hold for us?
Many generations have asked this question,
and some have tried to answer. In this unit, you will
explore your initial beliefs regarding what you believe
to be the most important developments and issues that
humanity will face in the immediate and distant future.
This understanding will act as a starting point for
the exploration of your theme study through the detailed
study of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. You
will also investigate how future utopias and dystopias
have been envisioned by other writers, film makers and
artists to analyse what they have identified as the
most vital concerns facing contemporary and future worlds.
From your study of the various literary and artistic
visions of the future you will create and present a
range of three to five written and/or multimodal texts
for specific audiences, purposes, contexts and forms
in which you explore your own visions of the future.

| This website takes you through each part
of the process so that by the time you come to construct
your own texts, you should be able to do so with confidence. |
