Examination Assessment by Exhibition
- Presentations will occur on November.
- Students who are absent will sit the examination
on Wednesday 14 November.
The presentations will be to a group, including
a teacher and year 9 students.
In each group, one student will be the facilitator; one will be
the timer; and the others will be participants. All will assess
the student presenter according to the attached criteria sheet.
Following is an outline
of the process:
Facilitator introduction: 2 minutes
Year 10 students will wait outside the allocated room until the
facilitator invites them in. The facilitator will introduce the
year 10 presenters.
Presentation: 20 to 25
The presenters deliver the presentation to the panel. It is delivered
as an intellectual discussion, rather than the reading of an essay.
There is no questioning or interrupting at this time.
Probing questions: 3-4
The panel asks some probing questions of the presenters through
Cool feedback: 2 minutes
The facilitator asks for cool, not cruel, feedback.
Point out the areas that need improvement.
Warm feedback: 2 minutes
The facilitator asks for warm feedback that is focused on reinforcing
the strong aspects of the presentation.
This feedback should move beyond good presentation type
comments, and should aim to articulate what was effective and why.
Assessment: 3 minutes
The year 10 presenters leave the room while each panel member assesses
the presenter according to the criteria. The
assessment marks are aggregated by the facilitator who inserts the
final marks onto 2 assessment sheets.
The facilitator calls the presenters back into the room and gives
one of the final assessment sheet to the
presenters. There is no further discussion about the assessment

final assessment sheet to Dr Prideaux (assistant principal's office

on the end of the year reports.
